Thank you to our volunteers, donors, and sponsors for an AMAZING 2018! Together, we have been able to accomplish so much good! Here are just a few of the highlights from this year…
54 New Homes Built!
Volunteers worked alongside Habitat families to help them build their quality, affordable homes. In 2018, we took a huge leap forward in our multi-year neighborhood revitalization initiative – 54 new homes! Since 2015, 57 new homes in Como, 49 in Hillside Morningside, and 25 in Carver Heights East. Plus, we helped rehab 13 homes hit by Hurricane Harvey.
Proud Habitat Parents Celebrate Son’s College Acceptance
Claudia and Alejandro, Trinity Habitat homeowners, couldn’t be more proud of their son, Alex. He graduated high school second in his class and was accepted to Texas A&M, where he is now studying aerospace engineering.
With the support of volunteers and donors, Trinity Habitat hit the halfway point of our multi-year, multi-million-dollar commitment to our three partner neighborhoods!
A Million Dollars Raised at BuildStrong Lunch
Our most successful BuildStrong lunch ever! Thank you to all of our Ambassadors for inviting friends and colleagues throughout the year to HabiTours. These tours are the best way to learn about Trinity Habitat and include a tour of our model home. HabiTours lead up to our BuildStrong Lunch. On October 30, we had over 750 in attendance and raised a Million Dollars!!! Habitat families told their stories and shared how their lives have been forever transformed thanks to our donors.
Making A Difference Abroad
This year, Trinity Habitat took volunteer teams to Kenya and El Salvador to help build homes for families in need. We are heading back to Kenya and the Dominican Republic in 2019 and would love for you to join us! In fact, we have an Info Session on January 10, if you want to learn more.
Hammer Passed to Alcon
XTO Energy built their 9th and final Habitat home in Sundance Square. They’ve passed the hammer to the Alcon Foundation who will carry on this fun tradition in 2019. XTO built the home for and alongside the Casteal Family. They were once homeless, but are working together as a team to build a better future.
We had hundreds join us for our House Party where they toured the Casteal Family’s home and enjoyed the classic motown tunes of Legacy 7. We’ll be building again in Sundance Square the last week of March, so plan to come watch another house be built in a week!
One Day = One Home
We are so grateful to the hundreds of individual donors who came together for North Texas Giving Day to raise over $76,000 to make Khadijah and her boy’s home a reality! Want to help another family this Christmas? Make a gift to Trinity Habitat.
We Need Volunteers!
